Stakeholder Engagement Lead - Road Safety Strategy

Do you want to help steer New Zealand away from the increasing rise in road deaths and serious injuries we’ve seen in recent years?

Road safety is important to all of us, whether we drive, cycle, walk or take public transport. The Ministry of Transport is developing a new Road Safety Strategy and Action plan, to support a significant and sustained improvement in road safety outcomes for New Zealanders.

We’re looking for someone with extensive stakeholder engagement skills and experience to lead a comprehensive and extensive engagement programme. You will help us to connect with a broad range of stakeholders including the public, transport sector organisations, road safety experts and local and central government.

Working in a cross-agency project team alongside the programme manager and principal policy adviser, you will lead the planning, preparation and delivery of the engagement workstream. You will need to bring all your skills and expertise to this complex environment and be able to successfully collaborate and liaise with multiple government agencies.

If you have proven experience in stakeholder engagement, a great engagement toolkit, the ability to build and maintain relationships, get buy-in and can work under pressure, we’d love to hear from you. Government and project experience is desirable.

The Stakeholder Engagement Lead is a fixed-term full-time role, until the end of September 2019. The position is based in Wellington and will involve some travel.
