Position Type: Permanent, Full Time (38 hours per week)

Salary: Up to $84,490 per annum + KiwiSaver, laptop & mobile

This is an exciting opportunity to shape
a new role and contribute across a range of functions the team leads. You’ll be
involved in areas such as the Ministry’s corporate accountability documents,
planning and reporting and official correspondence. With plenty of scope to
influence how things are done, you’ll help strengthen the Ministry’s
performance and transparency.  
The Adviser Ministerial and Executive Services works closely with
the wider team to deliver high quality and timely advice and services to
Ministers, Ministry of Transport senior leaders and staff, as well as the
public. This includes managing, processing and drafting responses to Official
Information Act requests and drafting responses to ministerial correspondence
and written Parliamentary Questions. 
You’ll provide support and advice while helping to monitor performance, identify challenges and shape solutions. In this role you’ll use your initiative and prioritisation skills to manage competing deadlines and dive into a wide range of topic across the Ministry. It’s a great opportunity to continue to build on your existing experience in government.
What you’ll bring | Te wāhi ki a koe
- Previous experience in responding to OIA requests, information requests and releases, Parliamentary Questions and official correspondence is preferred
 - Demonstrated experience working in the New Zealand public sector with an understanding of the machinery of government
 - Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and excellent stakeholder management skills
 - Strong communication skills and the ability to distil information into clear actions, communicating effectively to a range of audiences
 - Comfort operating in a fast paced and changeable work environment
 - Sound judgement and the ability to remain calm under pressure
while delivering to sometimes tight deadlines.
 
Salary range | Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau
The appointing base salary budget for
this position is $79,983 to $84,490 per annum + KiwiSaver. This is not indicative of the full salary band
range.
