About the opportunity | Ngā whakamārama mō te tūnga
The Ministerial and Executive Services
team is responsible for the Ministry’s corporate accountability, plan and
reporting and official correspondence functions. Recently, a new
operating model was established to deliver functions more efficiently and
better support the Ministry to meet its statutory obligations and performance
targets.
In this newly created role, you will be responsible
for preparing the Ministry’s responses to ministerial correspondence. This is a
great opportunity to work with our policy teams across the Ministry, widen your
transport knowledge, as well as utilise your skills and experience to help implement
a new way of working.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting high quality and timely Ministerials for the Minister
- Liaising with policy teams to source subject matter content
- Sharing business intelligence from Ministerial correspondence with the relevant teams and groups
- Working closely with our Coordinators to ensure correspondence is logged and processed appropriately to inform accurate reporting
- Assisting with preparing responses to correspondence received by the Ministry of Transport
- Providing backup and support to other team members
What you’ll bring | Te wāhi ki a koe
- A tertiary qualification or relevant experience
- Proficiency in drafting responses to ministerial and other correspondence
- The understanding of machinery of government processes and relevant legislation
- Experience and demonstrated capability in building and maintaining effective working relationships and excellent stakeholder management skills
- Excellent writing skills, experience and demonstrated ability in successfully interpreting and communicating effectively to diverse audiences
- Experience operating in a fast paced and changeable work environment, demonstrating your agility to respond
- Excellent time management, including an ability to handle high flows of information and work under pressure.
- Proficiency
in Microsoft Office tools and products.

Salary range | Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau
The base salary range budget for this position is $90,791 - $102,931 per annum + KiwiSaver. The salary offered will reflect skills and experience.
