Salary: $108,126 - $,135,000 per annum (+ KiwiSaver)

About the opportunity | Ngā whakamārama mō te tūnga
Our Finance team plays a vital role in enabling the Ministry to deliver its best—providing expert financial analysis and services that support operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and mitigate risk.
As the Senior Adviser – Departmental at the
Ministry, you will play a key role in leading the Ministry’s departmental
budgeting and internal financial reporting processes. You will be a trusted
adviser to budget managers and senior leaders, providing accurate, timely, and
insightful financial advice, including reviewing internal business cases and
contracts.
Your responsibilities also include preparing
monthly reports for the Senior Leadership Team, overseeing the Milford
Aerodrome memorandum account, and supporting the Finance SLT Subcommittee.
What you’ll bring | Te wāhi ki a koe
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience in preparing financial information and processes that allows you to think on your feet and identify risks, including up-to-date knowledge of relevant financial reporting standards (NZ IPSAS, NZ IFRS and GAAP)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build relationships and influence others, including with senior leaders
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, and being able to analyse data to gain insights and offer solutions to problems
- Strong attention to detail and capability in delivering accurate and high-quality work
- Experience using Microsoft, including Excel, and TechnologyOne or another medium to large FMIS
- Chartered Accountant/Certified Public Accountant qualification or equivalent.
Salary range | Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau
The base salary budget for this position is $108,126 - $135,000 per annum + KiwiSaver. The salary offered will reflect skills and experience.
